Message from the Sheriff
It gives me great pleasure to be addressing you as the Sheriff of Wahkiakum County. Wahkiakum County is nestled between Cowlitz County to the east and Pacific County to the west, along the mighty Columbia River in Southwest Washington State. Wahkiakum County is a beautiful and wonderful place to live, work and engage in the many varities of recreation. The sheriff's office is comprised of Patrol, Narcotics Investigations (Street Crimes), Dispatch and Corrections, Marine Patrol, Search and Rescue (SAR) and Civil units. We are also proud members with the Cowlitz-Wahkaikum Narcotics Task Force.
The men and women of the sheriff's office are dedicated to serving our citizens throughout our county and communities, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The sheriff's office core values are Respect, Integrity, and Service.
We are blessed and reliant on our many volunteers who are the fabric that hold our office together. They are the Reserve Deputy Sheriff's unit, the robust Search and Rescue (SAR) unit, Department of Emergency Management (DEM), Amateur Radio Operators unit, Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS) unit, Citizen Emergency Response Team (CERT), and Jail Outreach Programs.
I'm extremely proud of the sheriff's office and the work they do, along with all of the community and regional partnerships we have formed, and the new partnerships to be forged in the future.
Respectfully,
Sheriff Jon L. Dearmore
