Inmate Communications

Phone Service

We do not take phone messages for inmates unless it is a verifiable emergency. Hand written messages can be dropped off at the Sheriff's Office.  Inmates have access to a collect call only phone for most of the day.

All incoming mail is searched for contraband. Any mail containing illegal materials will not be delivered. No mail is accepted at the jail if postage is due. No mail with explicit pictures will be given to the inmate. No mail that violates any court orders will be given to inmates.

The Wahkiakum County Sheriff’s Office now offers remote video visitation services through a partnership with CIDNET. This service is intended to keep incarcerated individuals connected with their friends and family, and we encourage visitors to utilize this service.

Visitation hours at the Sheriff’s Office will remain on Tuesdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM for a period of 15 minutes per visit, however, visits will be conducted through a video terminal located in the visitation area. Visitors will be required to call the Sheriff’s Office at 360-795-3242 extension 0 in advance to schedule visits and ensure that the terminal is available.

To set up an account for remote video visitation, please visit the following link:

Upon setting up an account you will need to submit a valid photo ID to be screened by the Sheriff’s Office. All visitors must be 18 years of age or older and any children involved in remote visits must be accompanied by the account holder for the duration of the visit.

Remote Visitation Guidelines:

  • Remote visitation is available at our facility Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4:00PM to 10:00PM and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00AM to 10:00PM. Remote visits must be scheduled a minimum of 12 hours in advance but no more than 14 days in advance.
  • Video visits may be cancelled due to facility need or unforeseen circumstances. Appropriate efforts will be made by the Sheriff’s Office to notify both parties if the need arises to cancel a remote visit.
  • All remote visits are recorded and subject to monitoring by Corrections Staff.
